Terms & Conditions

  1. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd promise to maintain the highest standards of professional behaviour at all times.
  2. In the unlikely event of any errors or omissions caused by Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd, the necessary revisions or corrections will be made free of charge. If, however, errors or omissions are made because the client has supplied incomplete or incorrect information, any necessary revisions or corrections will be charged at our standard hourly rate.
  3. The price for the work and the applicable hourly rates will be laid out in our quotation. Unless otherwise stated, the price and/or hourly rates will not include travelling expenses, postage, or sundry expenses incurred in the course of the work.
  4. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd reviews its standard hourly rates annually. We will notify all clients in writing of any price changes applicable to their work.
  5. Fixed fee pricing will be reviewed 3 months after commencement of work.
  6. Fixed fees are payable in advance and will not be refunded in the event of the client terminating the contract without prior agreement, whether the work has been carried out, or not.
  7. Unless otherwise stated in the letter of engagement, Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd will make the following charges for travelling expenses:
    • Journeys by car will be charged at 45p per mile;
    • The minimum charge for an office visit is one hour of work. For all visits under 4 hours, travelling time and mileage at 45p per mile will be added.
  8. Any postage, stationery or sundry items purchased on behalf of the client will be charged at cost.
  9. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd is VAT registered.
  10. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd will issue invoices monthly on the last day of the month. Where Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd is required to purchase software, equipment or other large items on behalf of the client we will, with prior agreement from the client, issue the invoice to the client immediately upon ordering the items and payment will be due within 7 days of the invoice date.
  11. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd will accept payments by Cheque, Bank Transfer, Standing Order, Direct Debit or Credit Card. Standing orders are to be paid on the 1st of each month.
  12. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd has the right to refuse work, or to nullify a working contract at any time, at the owner’s discretion.
  13. For book-keeping assignments the agreement between Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd and the client may be terminated by either party giving one months written notice of termination to the other
  14. In the event of termination of the agreement, for whatever reason, the client will be responsible for paying all fees due to Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd, including costs, expenses and disbursements incurred by Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd on behalf of the client up to and including any notice period.
  15. Subject to the above, Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd will co-operate as far as practicable to ensure that any work in progress is transferred to the client.
  16. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd asserts its rights under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. The copyright on any material developed specifically for the client, as part of the agreement, will be transferred to the client on payment of the applicable invoice.
  17. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd uses modern equipment and up to date software, including industry standard virus scanning software. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd will not be held liable for loss or damage caused to client data, as a result of computer viruses that go undetected by the virus scanning software.
  18. Where it is necessary to post items relating to the work to the client or a third party, Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd will use a tracked and signed for service. We recommend that the client uses a similar service when posting any items to Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd. Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd will not be held liable for loss, damage or theft of any items sent to the client whilst they are going through the postal system.
  19. The Mad About Book-Keeping Ltd office closes annually over Christmas and New Year and therefore unfortunately cannot offer any support over this period.
